Jake Saltzman's foundation in the trenchless industry began with hands-on experience working alongside contractors and crews performing drain cleaning, pipe rehabilitation, and cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) installations. Early in his career, he gained a firsthand understanding of the challenges contractors face daily—tight access conditions, inconsistent materials, evolving technologies, and the constant need to deliver efficient, high-quality results.

Prior to founding APS, Saltzman served as Worldwide Technical Director for Picote Solutions, a globally recognized manufacturer of drain cleaning and trenchless equipment. In this role, he worked closely with contractors across North America and internationally, helping implement technologies, refine processes, and expand training programs.

His time at Picote provided valuable exposure to a wide range of trenchless technologies, including descaling systems, reinstatement tools, and CIPP repair methods. It also gave him insight into the gap that often exists between advanced equipment and the practical knowledge required to use it effectively.

This experience would ultimately lay the groundwork for the creation of APS.
